Underlying Landscape

Underlying Landscape is a commissioned video work that was prepared as part of Learning With the Saint Lawrence, an interdisciplinary research project led by artist and professor Kathleen Vaughan of Concordia University, in Montreal. Intended to foster knowledge and stewardship of the Saint Lawrence River, Learning With the Saint Lawrence includes “field guides” created by artists that explore their relationship to a specific site along the River.

Underlying Landscape emphasizes drawing as a personal and interior process that is inspired by daily experiences along the River in the Montreal neighbourhood of Verdun.
